I grew up in Greensboro, NC, went to Western Carolina and cut my teeth in the world of smoking meat at Badin Lake with a college buddy in my mid twenties. I was a regular at Country BBQ on Wendover Ave in Greensboro and also worked in Lexington for 5 years before moving to Atlanta nine years ago so there were plenty of trips to Lexington BBQ. I quickly realized that the pork at barbecue joints in Atlanta was....we'll just say....not what I was used to back home. This was the inspiration- to bring some top notch NC style 'cue to Atlanta. After a long and winding road of cooking all over town, in and out of many backyards, driveways and restaurants, I've finally found a permanent home in our brand new commercial kitchen at PREP Atlanta and PBBQ is here to stay!
